Red Heels is a unique original work in a small antique Italian frame.
The piece started as a photograph, but has become a physical mixed-media object through a slow, hand-built process. The image is mounted on wood and layered with gold paint containing metallic particles, gold leaf, Japanese Awagami Kozo paper, linseed oil and several layers of varnish.
Because of its small scale, the work feels almost like a hidden object. Intimate, dark and tactile. The antique Italian frame is part of the piece itself and gives the image the presence of a small icon or cabinet work.
The surface is imperfect by nature, with visible traces of the paper, oil, varnish and handwork. It cannot be reproduced as a flat print.
There is only one. No edition. No second print. No reproduction.
